School Discipline Policy
The discipline structure aims to monitor and identify minor problems before they develop into more serious issues. The system is based on a ‘Complaint System’ where incidents are recorded on a formal complaint sheet. These incidents are also recorded in the student’s diary so that parents are always aware of any disimprovement in a child’s behaviour. If a pattern of misbehaviour becomes apparent, parents will be notified by letter and requested to attend a meeting in the school. The student may be placed ‘on report’ if a number of complaint sheets have been filed. If a student is ‘on report’ then a comment as to the students work/behaviour/attitude is filled in by each teacher during the day. Students are not allowed to go on school trips or represent the school whilst working through a period of being ‘on report’. If the pattern of misbehaviour continues then suspension may apply.
